London-based gaming company Playtech have announced the release of their biggest slot title for several years – Top Gun. Based the on the block-buster 1986 movie Top Gun featuring Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer, the new Top Gun slot will have 5 reels and 243 ways to win.
Like many new game releases, Top Gun will be available across most devices including desktop, tablet and mobile. Playtech announced this latest movie-inspired title via their Youtube Channel earlier today and the trailer can be seen below.
What Playtech have done very well is to ensure the stars of the film appear on the reels, as well as extracts from the film and some of the most memorable quotes from this 80’s classic. The real shame is that they haven’t managed to get the star character – Maverick, played by Tom Cruise – in the game. This is most likely due to rights issues for use of his image, as several other characters can be found on the reels.
Top Gun has a number of features including a ‘Danger Zone’ free spins bonus and randomly triggered dog fight wilds. It is expected to be available in online casinos very soon.
Playtech have a history of releasing movie-inspired slots, such as Gladiator, Blade and Rocky. This has been the first major release from them for some time and it is good to see that they are still developing ‘big ticket’ titles.
